In late 2018, Perth Lions Netball Region was successful in becoming one of the licensed teams for the revamped West Australian Netball League (now Gold Industry Group WANL).
Western Roar Netball Club was born from a rich and successful history pathed out by Perth Lions over a 30 year period. The Club competes at GIG WANL level with the maximum number of teams competing in the Women's Open, 21 & Under plus Men's Open competitions. In 2024, we saw the introduction of the inagular Futures competition, which allows for our up and coming athletes to complete in a high level tournament.
The most recent season of GIG WANL saw Western Roar finish Minor Premiers in all three divisions, followed by a clean sweep in the Grand Finals, Becoming the second time the club has won all three divisions in one year.
