PRIDE Program
Investing in the Development of Future Western Roar Athletes...
An integral part of ensuring the Club's success and sustainability for future years is the development of the next generation of Western Roar superstars! PRIDE is our GIG WANL underpinning program. Each year a select group of promising netball athletes aged 13-18 years are chosen to join Western Roar's Pride Program. Our pride athletes train alongside our squad players to develop their skills and expose these young athletes to the elite training environment at GIG WANL level.
2024 saw the introduction of the inaugural Futures competition. The program consists of underpinning teams from all GIG WANL clubs coming together in a 7 week competition. The rounds begin in late Feburary and run till the beginning of April. At the end of the rounds, the top two teams will compete in a final in order to crown the inurgual Futures champions.
PRIDE GIRLS
At the conclusion of each year, many of our Pride athletes graduate from the program into the 20 and Under competition. Our goal is to continue this strong pathway for years to come.
PRIDE BOYS
In 2020, Western Roar became the first club in Australia to offer a State League underpinning program for young male netball athletes!
